About the course
Mechanical engineering plays an essential role at every level in society.
Our course is for you if you’re a newly qualified or practising engineer looking to improve your expertise in specialist areas. Our MSc will enhance both your theoretical knowledge and practical skills in areas such as:
computational fluid dynamics
advanced thermofluids
advanced manufacturing techniques
dynamics of solids
heat transfer.

You’ll be supervised by research-active faculty and become part of our vibrant international community. Accreditation
Accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) on behalf of the Engineering Council as meeting the requirements for Further Learning for registration as a Chartered Engineer. Candidates must hold a CEng accredited BEng/BSc (Hons) undergraduate first degree to comply with full CEng registration requirements.

You should normally have a lower second-class (2.2) undergraduate honours degree or above.
Your qualification should be in engineering (mechanical or automotive), mathematics, or physics. You can also apply for this course if your qualification is in a closely related discipline where you have studied mechanics, dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid flow. You may also be considered for the course if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing.
