Gain the skills to plan, promote, finance and grow your business venture. You'll undertake a study year abroad at one of our partners in Europe, North America, Australia or Asia and graduate with the ability to start your own business or bring entrepreneurial thinking to an established organisation. It's also an opportunity to learn new skills and enhance your employability within the global marketplace.
With this course you can:
Learn about digital business models, technological innovation or digital marketing
Learn business fundamentals such as financial and management accounting
Benefit from hands-on experience of preparing business plans and presenting pitches to industry experts
Choose optional modules that will help you to develop your business management skills in areas such as strategic marketing, project management, finance and accounting, or operational management
Study interdisciplinary modules to learn practical skills such as programming and web design
Our expert research-led academics are well connected. Through them you'll gain insights from the best and most innovative London-based companies, as well as Southampton's entrepreneurial community.
Graduates have started their own businesses, and worked for consultancies such as PwC and Deloitte. Graduates from the University of Southampton Business School earn £34,100 on average within 15 months of graduating (Graduate Outcomes 2022-23 published 2025).
We also offer a variant of this course with a paid industrial placement year instead of a study abroad year.
