Summary
Entrepreneurship is about turning ideas into action and creating value in a fast-moving, global world. At Southampton, you will develop the skills to plan, launch and grow a business, while building the confidence to think differently and act on opportunity.

This degree combines business management with a focus on entrepreneurship, giving you both the knowledge and practical experience to succeed. You will spend a year studying abroad at one of our partner institutions in Europe, North America, Australia or Asia, gaining a global perspective and developing skills that will set you apart.

From digital business models to innovation and marketing, you will explore how businesses start, grow and adapt. Alongside core topics such as financial and management accounting, you will learn how to apply your knowledge in real situations, preparing you for a range of career paths.

Your Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) will support you throughout your time at Southampton, offering guidance on your studies, career planning and wellbeing. You will also have access to a range of academic and pastoral support services.

Graduates have gone on to start their own businesses or work for organisations such as PwC and Deloitte. Graduates from Southampton Business School earn an average of £34,100 within 15 months of graduating (Graduate Outcomes 2022 to 2023, published 2025).

We also offer a variant of this course with a paid industrial placement year instead of a study abroad year, giving you the option to gain professional experience as part of your degree."

We normally consider applicants who offer at least 1 Advanced Higher. Applicants presenting with only Highers will be considered on a case by case basis. Where Highers are taken over two years it might be expected that higher grades are achieved, particularly in any specific subjects required. For example, S5 – S6 (2 years): AABBB (A in specific subject) or S6 (1 year): ABBBB (A in specific subject).

Where there is a subject pre-requisite(s), applicants will be required to study the subject(s) at Higher Level in the Diploma course subject and/or take a specified unit in the career-related study qualification. Applicants may also be asked to achieve a specific grade in those elements.

The University of Southampton values the Extended Project Qualification. If you are taking an EPQ in addition to 3 A levels, you will receive the following offer in addition to the standard A-level offer:

Cambridge Pre-U's can be used in combination with other qualifications such as A Levels to achieve the equivalent of the typical offer.

Applicants must hold GCSE English language (or GCSE English) (minimum grade 4/C) and mathematics (minimum grade 6*/B).

* Grade 5 in mathematics (in the new reformed GCSE's) can be accepted if an applicant has grade B in A levels Maths, Physics, Economics, Geography, Psychology or Business.

Please note we cannot accept a grade 5 in mathematics if you are studying other qualifications, the requirement is a grade 6.

OCR Cambridge Technical Introductory Diploma in Business is accepted if combined with two suitable A levels with grade A's.

We welcome applicants with other qualifications eg. European Baccalaureate. You will be expected to attain an equivalent standard to the A level applicant.
