Early Childhood Studies

Our typical offer is 64 UCAS tariff points.

UCAS points from A Levels, Scottish Highers or Advanced levels, BTEC diplomas, City and Guilds diplomas, Open University credits in lieu of A levels, Access to HE Diplomas, and T Levels are accepted.

We will also accept applications from students who have passed, or are predicted to gain a pass grade in the following specific course programmes:-
T Level: Education and Early Years (Assisting Teaching) L3
T Level: Education and Early Years (Early Years Educator) L3
BTEC Health & Social Care Extended Diploma Level 3
Access to Higher Education: Childhood Studies

or who have successfully completed one of the following apprenticeships:
Early Educator Apprenticeship Standard L3
Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Level 3

A minimum of 700 hours of professional practice is a requirement of this programme. This can be either voluntary or paid and we can support you to find a suitable placement. We have strong partnerships with students' workplaces, which allows you to embed theory into practice, while developing your professional and employability skills.

Applicants over 21 years of age, who do not have relevant UCAS points, will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis but should demonstrate evidence of an appropriate qualification, experience in the field or a strong interest.

AP(C/E)L & RPEL may be considered for non-standard entry.

Applications from students whose first language is not English are welcome. For International students we require evidence of proficiency in - English (including writing, speaking, listening and reading); the required minimum is IELTS (SELT) 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components).
