About the course

Education Foundation Studies: Certificate of Higher Education is a one year programme designed to help you develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in higher education. It prepares you either to progress onto a full undergraduate degree in education or to begin building a career in the sector.

This course is suitable if you do not yet meet the entry requirements for direct entry onto a degree. You will strengthen your academic study skills while gaining an introduction to key areas of education, child development and policy.

What you’ll study

You’ll build a solid foundation in education studies, while gaining professional skills valued across schools, early years settings and wider education sectors, including academic writing, research skills, data analysis, critical thinking and subject specific terminology.

Modules offered can vary each year but may include:
