The Creative Arts (Games Art) Foundation Degree is a practical, creative course designed for students who want to develop the visual and technical skills needed to create assets, environments and worlds for games and interactive media.
At Level 4, you’ll build strong foundations in game art and visual design, learning how to create 3D assets and environments that work within real-time engines and production pipelines. You’ll explore form, texture, scale and style while developing confidence with industry-standard tools used in contemporary games art.
At Level 5, you’ll refine your technical and creative abilities, focusing on advanced 3D modelling, sculpting and worldbuilding. You’ll work on more complex projects, creating detailed environments and game-ready assets while developing an understanding of how visual storytelling and design decisions shape player experience.
The course concludes with a Final Major Project, where you’ll bring together your skills to produce a substantial piece of games design work. Throughout the programme, learning is project-based and closely aligned with industry practice, preparing you for progression into further study or entry-level roles within the games and creative industries
