Sport Coaching (with Foundation Year)

Become a sports coach who changes people’s lives. With a focus on coaching practice, sport psychology, and coaching sciences, this degree will give you the skills to evaluate sport coaching contexts and influence ethical and sustainable coaching practice.

This is the foundation year option for students who do not meet the entry requirements for the degree course. This additional year of study will give you a grounding in the business and management skills required for this course, building your confidence, knowledge and skills for further study. After successful completion of the foundation year, you will progress to the full degree.

During the foundation year, you will study the following units: Fundamentals of Business & Management, Academic & Professional Practice and Fusion Business Project. Year 1 core units include: Studying Sport; Understanding the Sport Industry; Foundations of Coaching, Exploring Coaching Practice; Sport, Culture & Society; Introduction to Sport & Exercise Psychology
