You’ll immerse yourself in the interdisciplinary science of sport performance. From biomechanics and physiology to nutrition and psychology, you’ll study how the body and mind perform under pressure – and how to push them further, safely and sustainably.

Through a blend of theory, lab work, and real-world experience, you’ll develop the knowledge, analytical ability, and practitioner confidence to support athletes at every stage of their journey. You’ll graduate ready to make a measurable impact in high-performance sport – from emerging talent to elite competitors.

As part of this course, you’ll:

  • Develop expertise across biomechanics, nutrition, physiology, and sport psychology, understanding how these disciplines combine to optimise performance

Refine your practitioner skills
This is one of the few undergraduate courses in the UK designed specifically to show you how different areas of science work together to enhance human performance.

Working with real clients and athletes, you'll develop the self-awareness, communication skills, and professional judgement required to become an effective sport performance practitioner. You’ll learn to design interventions that maximise performance while protecting long-term health and wellbeing.

Typical qualification requirements

UCAS Tariff
112-128

A minimum 72-80 from two A Levels or equivalent, e.g. BTEC Nationals or Cambridge Technicals, excluding General Studies. At least one of these should normally be from a science subject, which can include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Physical Education or Psychology. If you are studying Biology, Chemistry or Physics to meet this requirement you must also achieve a 'Pass' in the practical assessment, where that practical assessment is separated (from 2017)

GCSE/National 4/National 5

GCSE English Language and Maths at Grade 4 or above (Grade C for GCSEs taken before 2017). Key Skills Level 2, Functional Skills Level 2 and the Certificate in Adult Literacy/Numeracy are accepted in place of GCSEs.

n enhanced criminal history (DBS) check maybe required for certain modules which involve working with children and/or vulnerable others. The DBS in the UK is currently not able to conduct overseas criminal record checks, therefore international applicants, those without British Citizenship and British Citizens with a significant period of overseas residency will therefore require a criminal records check or certificate of good conduct from their home/overseas country before undertaking work with children and/or vulnerable others

IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification
