Course summary

Mathematics is the universal language of science and a beautiful subject in its own right. It is a discipline that also has important applications in industry and commerce, and well-qualified mathematicians are in great demand, with a wide choice of careers. For mathematicians with an interest and background in Spanish this degree is ideal. It is a four-year degree programme with a year spent abroad typically studying mathematics through the medium of the chosen language.

Mathematics at grade A/A* and Spanish grade B. A-level General Studies and Critical Thinking are normally excluded from offers. However, the grade achieved may be taken into account when results are published in August and may be used in a tie-break situation.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - Not accepted

Access to HE Diploma - Not accepted

Scottish Higher - Not accepted

Scottish Advanced Higher - AAB

Mathematics at grade A and Spanish at grade B. Offers are normally made on the basis of a combination of Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 34 points

Successful completion of IB Diploma Programme with 34 points overall including 6,6,5 at Higher Level including 6 in Mathematics and 5 in Spanish.

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) - H2, H3, H3, H3, H3, H3

Mathematics at grade H2 and Spanish at grade H3
