Your Career
Once registered with the GPhC, pharmacy graduates enjoy good employment prospects with attractive starting salaries. The majority are employed in either community or hospital pharmacies.

Year 2 entry: minimum entry requirments: Chemistry, Biology and an additional subject with Maths or Physics preferred; if not Maths at A Level, GCSE Maths 6/B; GCSE English Language 6/B; a pass in A Level Chemistry practical is required, where offered.

Scottish Higher
AABB

Chemistry A, Biology A, Maths B, English B and BB at Advanced Higher (Chemistry B and either Biology B or Physics B or Maths B). English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) or Geography or Modern Studies or History will be considered in place of Higher English B. Entry into Year 1 may be considered for applicants unable to sit Advanced Highers in S6 e.g. due to geographical reasons.

1st sitting: standard entry is for year 2 from S6 only. Exceptions will be considered at AABC for year 1 entry including Chemistry A, Biology A, Maths B and English C (English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) or Geography or Modern Studies or History will be considered in place of Higher English). 2nd sitting: Higher AABC (Chemistry A, Biology A, Maths B, English C (English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) or Geography or Modern Studies or History will be considered in place of Higher English) plus Advanced Higher in Chemistry B and Biology C; Physics or Maths considered as an alternative to Biology).

Scottish Advanced Higher

Year 2 entry: Chemistry B and either Biology B or Physics B or Maths B as well as AABB at Higher (Chemistry A, Biology A, Maths B and English B).

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
34 points

Year 2 entry: Chemistry HL6, Biology HL6, another subject at HL6 (Maths SL6, English SL6, required if not studied at HL) included in overall total of not less than 34 at first attempt.

All offers are subject to criminal record checks; applicants must be registered with the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme or other national equivalent. Pharmacy students are subject to Fitness to Practise procedures.
Interview
Please note that applicants must complete situational judgement tests within an interview. Interviews will be online and held before the end of May 2025.
