Course summary

This programme will provide you with constant opportunities to learn by practically developing your creativity in a variety of scenarios, such as presentation, group discussion, solo and collaborative creative opportunities, devised work and rehearsal-based projects.

You will work will also be underpinned by a detailed level of research, which will enhance your understanding of a wide range of contexts. You will be introduced to theorists and practitioners and develop your technical ability alongside your creative instincts. You will develop as a “thinking performer” through opportunities to reflect on your process and environments, including masterclasses in professional practice which will ultimately support your longevity and desirability within the profession.
In your third year, your Professional Portfolio will prepare you to enter the professional industry with an enhanced awareness of your casting and position as a creative.

De Montfort University has partnered with Performance Preparation Academy (PPA) who offer enviable industry links and will promote you into the world of the Singing Actor. This will give you access to agents, casting directors and potential employers via your Showcase in London’s West End. You will have access to an outstanding team of successful industry mentors to help you develop your networking skills whilst in training.
