Course summary

A Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is a valuable and highly regarded qualification within industry. The programme is preparation for the Top-up Degree programme in Engineering and follows on from the Higher National Diploma in Engineering.

The course is also ideal for those who want to establish a career in the industry or progress in their current position with a Level 5 qualification. The programme provides students with analytical thinking skills and the principles of Mechanical Engineering.

Qualification requirements

HNC (BTEC) - P - D

In order to study this course you will need to have a previously studied and passed a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Engineering. You do not necessarily need to have studied this qualification at Blackburn University Centre. If you wish to study the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering you should complete the Higher National Certificate first, in your second year of full-time study you will then complete your HND.
