Course summary

Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Engineering for England is a rigorous specialist vocational programme, linked to professional body requirements and with a strong work related emphasis. At Level 4 students develop a broad knowledge and awareness of key aspects of the engineering sector through three core and 5 specialist units. These align with the Engineering Manufacturing Technician apprenticeship standard.
Our HND Engineering for England course is a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ), developed in collaboration with industry employers and aligned with current industry standards. This course is approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education’;s Occupational Standards, ensuring you receive a qualification that meets the demands of the Engineering sector.

Assessment method

Assessment will be through assignments. Each outcome or module will be assessed by a project-style assignment.
The method of assessment has been designed to encourage continuous written and verbal feedback throughout the course to ensure the highest grade attainable for each unit in conjunction with the highest quality education.

Qualification requirements

UCAS Tariff - 80 points

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have one of the following. You will need to have a combination of GCE A levels, or BTEC Level 3 Diploma/ Extended Diplomas or equivalent qualifications, preferably in an engineering subject. GCSE Mathematics and English Language are preferred at grade 4 or above. Level 3 Diploma in Engineering with at least a merit A suitable level 3 apprenticeship in Engineering. Appropriate work-based knowledge and competency.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have one of the following.
