Course summary

The BA (Hons) Interior Architecture at MJM London South Bank University prepares the next generation of creative professionals shaping the spaces where people live, work, learn, interact and experience contemporary culture.

Interior architects today work across residential, hospitality, retail, workplace, luxury, commercial and cultural environments. They design spaces that combine creativity, functionality, sustainability and user experience, transforming interiors into meaningful environments that respond to changing lifestyles, technologies and societal needs.

The profession combines design thinking, spatial planning, architecture, material exploration and human-centred design. From concept development and technical drawing to 3D visualisation, sustainable design strategies and digital technologies, interior architects balance creativity and technical expertise to create spaces that are both innovative and practical.

Delivered in the heart of London, the programme brings the internationally recognised creative expertise of MJM Graphic Design — one of France's leading Art & Design institutions since 1979 — into the academic framework of London South Bank University, combining industry-focused creative education with British academic excellence within one of the world's most influential design and architectural capitals.

This practice-led degree develops expertise across interior design, spatial design, architecture, visual communication, sustainability, materiality and professional practice. Through studio-based learning, workshops and industry-inspired projects, students develop creative confidence, technical expertise and a professional portfolio aligned with international industry expectations.
