Course summary

Information is critical in healthcare for many reasons, and how this is stored, shared, and
communicated is essential to day-to-day operations. Our FdA in Professional Healthcare
Management and Informatics can give you the knowledge and skills needed to be a competent
professional in this field. You will learn a wide range of operational care and management
perspectives and principles that apply across the sector.

Modules

In year 1, you will study:
• Healthcare Management
• Security and Communication in Healthcare
• Introduction to Healthcare Budgeting
• Illness and Co-morbidities- Health inequalities in the UK
• Developing Academic and Professional Practice
• Research Methods

In year 2, you will study five core modules:
• Geography of Health
• Healthcare and the Law
• Finance and Accounting in Healthcare
• Research Project
• Data Analysis and Informatics
Then you will select an additional one module from the following options:
• Psychology for Health Management
• IT for Managers
