Placements that bring learning to life
We work closely with local schools and education providers to ensure your studies reflect current classroom practice. The degree provides an ideal opportunity for you to identify your chosen pathway into primary education. You’ll be immersed in children’s learning environments, observing how priority areas such as EAL, SEND, and the teaching of core subjects are addressed across the primary phase. Alongside this, you’ll undertake a block placement in a primary school and gain experience in a range of wider educational settings, including galleries, museums, pupil referral units, family centres, and charities. Your placements will help you build practical experience and enhance your employability.

Placements also give you the opportunity to:

  • Plan and deliver cross-curricular activities

  • Support children in the classroom

  • Gain insight into primary school education and wider children’s services

  • Build experience beyond traditional settings, including outdoor learning centres and alternative and specialist learning provision

These experiences help you grow in confidence, refine your strengths, and make informed choices about your future in education and child-focused careers.
