Course summary

Stylist, Photographer, or Creative Director?

You’re inspired by the photographers, stylists, and creative directors whose work makes you stop and think. The editorials excite you, you’ve archived the campaigns, and are building an instinctive eye for what makes a fashion image land. This course is where that instinct is sharpened into a discipline and becomes a career.

You’ll work across the disciplines in fashion photography, styling, and creative direction as one fluid practice – moving between roles aligned with the industry. Today’s most in-demand creatives aren’t defined by a single title, but by their ability to shape an image from concept through to final frame.

Your tutors are active photographers, stylists, and creative directors, still working inside the industry you’re stepping into. The briefs reflect real creative practice and processes, collaboration is constant, and is designed for the kind of unexpected encounters that push ideas further than you thought possible. By the time you graduate, you won’t just have a portfolio – you’ll have an industry perspective. A creative voice that’s yours, and the technical confidence to make it translate on set, on page, and on screen.

Contextual admissions

Universities and colleges consider more than grades when assessing applications and may make offers based on a range of criteria. Learn more about contextual offers.

UCA is a place for creativity, ingenuity, and personality. We always consider the strength of an applicant's portfolio / audition as well as their grades and may make offers lower than our standard entry criteria to applicants with strong portfolios. We also make lower offers to students with mitigating circumstances or who have faced difficulties.

You shouldn’t be deterred from applying if your predicted grades are lower than the range we’ve accepted in the past.
