Course summary

This programme has been designed for those people already working in the legal and related sectors who wish to upskill and enhance their knowledge to progress their careers. It will also appeal to non-law applicants looking to pursue a career in a paralegal role without necessarily wishing to qualify as a solicitor or barrister. The programme will enable you to develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the basic Principles of Law and the Legal System in England and Wales.

Modules

Modules in the programme will normally include: Level 4 • Legal Sources and Skills • Legal Transactions and Remedies • Law of Torts • Criminal Law and Practice • Constitutional Law • Professional Practice in the Legal Sector Level 5 • Property Law and Practice • Employment Law and Practice • Family Law and Practice • Wills and Succession • Work Based Learning • Research Project

Assessment method

A range of assessments are used within the programme, including portfolios, case studies, reflections and presentations.

Qualified teacher status (QTS)

To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:
