Is your interest in information systems or software product development? What about software engineering or data structures? On our Computer Science (with Foundation Year) degree, you can take your first step into computer science. The course starts with a foundation year in computing, building confidence and essential academic skills before progressing to the degree. Through your learning and development, you will build everything you need for a successful career in any area of computing.
You will solve difficult problems and sharpen your technical skills. Beyond the classroom, you can get involved in our award-winning Formula Student autonomous team, one of the UK's finest. It provides an opportunity to learn through a fun, educational competition. Societies such as Computing and Gaming are also a great way to develop your interests and make friends.
You will be part of a community that values teamwork and innovation. The IceCube, our innovation hub supported by the Royal Society, provides a space for you to develop your ideas and entrepreneurial ambitions.

If you choose the placement option, you can spend your third year on a work placement. During your placement there is a fee which is paid to the university. It covers the cost of your placement tutor, and the support we provide whilst looking for a placement position and during your placement role.
