You'll be uniquely equipped to lead equestrian sport into a more sustainable and welfare-driven future. We’ll support you to adopt an innovative and scientific mind-set, building both specialist and transferable skills to help you stand out when you graduate. You’ll explore the science behind sustainable equestrian success while actively promoting a “good life” for all.
Graduates of this course will influence, educate, and drive meaningful change across equestrian welfare, performance, and policy landscapes across the racing, sports and charitable sectors of the industry.

Course Modules
Our modules are developed regularly to reflect student and industry demands, ensuring you’re well prepared to enter skilled employment on graduation. The majority of courses are comprised of both compulsory and optional modules, the latter of which you'll be able to choose from to suit your interests and career goals. Most courses also include work placement learning, to help you gain essential experience for your future. Modules include: Equitation Science, Equestrian Practice, Introduction to Horse Human Interactions, Equine Structure and Function, Equine Industry, Sustainable Equestrianism, The Other 23 Hours, Equestrian Research Methods, Equine Performance, Fitness and Training, One Welfare in the Equine Industry, Undergraduate Dissertation, Developments in Equine Research, Challenging Equestrian Culture, Optimising Rider Performance for Equine Welfare, Equine Ethics and Welfare. Optional modules change each year - you can attend introductory sessions before deciding which ones to study.

BBC or equivalent from at least two full A Levels.
T Level
An overall grade of Merit, to include grade C or above in the Core component.
UCAS TariffOffer: 112
112 UCAS tariff points.
Scottish Higher
112 UCAS tariff points from at least two Highers. You must have completed two years study at Higher Level.
Access to HE Diploma
112 UCAS tariff points in an Access to Higher Education Diploma.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
112 UCAS tariff points in an IB Diploma, to include two Highers at H3 or above.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)DMM
DMM in an Extended Diploma in a relevant subject.
Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)
112 UCAS tariff points from at least two Highers.
In addition to the above, we require a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 9-4 (A*-C), to include English and Maths. We will consider equivalencies including but not limited to functional skills level 2, Irish Ordinary level, National 5s, IB standard level.
We will consider combinations of level three qualifications.
We welcome applications from individuals with equivalent, non-UK qualifications and mature students (over 21). We may interview as part of the application process.
The minimum academic entry requirement for this programme is 80 UCAS tariff points, providing this is combined with relevant experience.
