Course summary

A module ideal for school leavers wishing to experience undergraduate study in preparation for university and gain insight into the Built Environment and construction industry.

Successful completion will enable students to progress onto the University of the Built Environment BSc programme of their choice.

You will study one module from our BSc (Hons) degree programme, called Introduction to the Built Environment 1. You will be provided additional support for your studies to help facilitate the transition between A-Level/Level 3 and undergraduate study. This introductory module also offers the opportunity to sample supported online study at undergraduate level.

You will receive online study materials designed to enhance your study skills and build your self-confidence to study at an undergraduate level. You will be assigned a member of staff who will provide you with direct study support and work with you to develop an individual support plan. You will also benefit from detailed written feedback, group support sessions, study support webinars and dedicated surgery hours.

You will complete the 20-credit module over six months, studying for around seven to ten hours a week.

On successful completion of the module, you will be offered entry to the undergraduate programme of your choice. You will be able to transfer your academic credits when you enter your BSc programme. Alternatively, you can choose to be awarded a Certificate of Personal and Professional Development (CPPD).
