Accreditations
This is a CIM accredited degree.
We’ve also partnered with the Digital Marketing Institute (DMI) to offer Certified Digital Marketing Associate (CDMA) certification. This means that on successful completion of the Digital Marketing Essentials module in your second year, you’ll obtain certification that shows you've learned the fundamental skills of digital marketing and is recognised by the world’s leading employers including Google, Facebook and Twitter.
Year one
In your first year, you’ll develop a strong foundation in the key areas of fashion marketing and management, while beginning to shape your own creative and professional identity within the industry.
You’ll explore how fashion brands are imagined, built and communicated - understanding how ideas evolve into products and how they connect with audiences in compelling and meaningful ways. You’ll begin to think strategically about the lifecycle of fashion, from concept through to the consumer.
Alongside this, you’ll gain insight into the wider contexts that shape the industry, from global business influences to cultural change. You’ll start to build confidence in using data to inform decisions, while developing a critical and creative mindset that challenges conventions and opens up new possibilities.
Through practical, creative, and digital work, you’ll begin building the skills needed to thrive in the industry - from branding and marketing to data management and design thinking.
Year two
In your second year, you’ll dive deeper into the core areas of fashion marketing and management, building on the knowledge and skills developed in year one.
You’ll explore key topic areas such as fashion buying and retail strategy, gaining insight into how fashion products are sourced, sold, and promoted. You’ll also develop your digital marketing skills and learn how brands connect with audiences in an increasingly online world.
You'll examine the psychology behind consumer behaviour to understand what influences purchasing decisions - and how fashion brands respond. In addition, you'll explore contemporary issues shaping the future of the industry, from sustainability to innovation and cultural change.
Year three
Your final year is all about defining your future and stepping confidently into the industry. You’ll refine your skills, deepen your knowledge and shape a clear sense of your professional identity.
At the heart of the year is a major self directed project, where you’ll take a strategic approach to developing a body of work that reflects your individual interests and career ambitions within fashion marketing and management. You’ll negotiate your own direction, allowing you to specialise and showcase your unique perspective and strengths.
Alongside this, you’ll engage with the future of fashion - examining how the industry is being reshaped by innovation, shifting consumer expectations and the urgent need for more responsible and regenerative practices. You’ll explore forward-thinking ideas and practical solutions, equipping you to contribute to meaningful change in the industry.
By the end of the year, you’ll graduate with a professional portfolio and a confident, future-focused mindset, ready to make your mark.
At Bath Spa, we pride ourselves on authentic assessments that reflect the realities of the industry. Our assessments are designed to reflect the real-world challenges of the fashion industry. You’ll work on a variety of creative and professional tasks—such as marketing reports, presentations, short films, and events.
