Childhood and Youth Studies (E93) (Taught)

Deepen your understanding and practice of children’s and young people’s lives while developing critical analysis skills. This diploma is particularly relevant for graduates working with children or young people who wish to advance their academic and professional careers. It's also suited to those with backgrounds in childhood and youth studies, youth work, youth justice, sociology, health and social care, social work, nursing, anthropology, psychology, education, and the voluntary sector, including charities and NGOs. Although this diploma doesn't provide professional recognition, it may enable individuals not currently working with children or young people to enter the field or transition between roles.

Course Modules

To gain this qualification, you need 120 credits.

You’ll study two 60-credit modules that deepen your understanding of children’s and young people’s lives and develop your critical practice skills. You’ll explore children and young people’s worlds alongside frameworks for critical practice, enabling you to analyse policy, practice and professional contexts in greater depth.
