Summary
Film is more than entertainment. It is a way of understanding culture, politics and the world around us.
On this course, you will explore cinema from its earliest beginnings to the present day. You will study film as popular art, as a global industry and as a cultural and historical record, developing a critical perspective on how films are made and understood.
From classic cinema to contemporary releases, you will analyse genres such as film noir, horror, science fiction, documentary and animation. Along the way, you will learn to question how meaning is created on screen and how film reflects and shapes society.
As you progress, you will build skills in analysis, interpretation and communication, preparing you for careers across film, media and the wider creative industries.
