Year 1
In your first year, you’ll build a strong foundation in music production, composition, and audio for screen. You’ll explore essential skills in recording, mixing, location sound, and Foley, while beginning to understand how music and sound shape story, mood, and emotion in visual media. You’ll study core techniques in sound design and composing to picture. This year is about gaining fluency with key tools, workflows, and concepts in screen-based audio.
Year 2
In Year 2, you’ll expand your skills in composition and sound design for visual media, developing a deeper understanding of storytelling through sound. Core modules such as Storytelling with Sound and Sound Design & Middleware allow you to explore how music and audio function across film, games, and interactive platforms. You’ll also begin to tailor your creative direction through optional modules in areas such as scoring and arranging, post-production, commercial music creation, and advanced production.
Year 3
Your final year is focused on creative independence, professional readiness, and innovation. You’ll complete two major self-directed projects: one focused on developing an industry-facing portfolio that showcases your strengths as a composer or sound designer, and another that gives you space to explore new ideas or technologies in your chosen area of practice. You can further shape your experience through optional modules in music education, leadership, or collaborative practice, depending on your career aspirations.
