Mathematics (Extended Degree)

Mathematics is the language of our data-driven society.
Mathematics graduates understand the world in a special way, and their skills are in high demand. According to a report by the Council for Mathematical Sciences, demand is still rising, giving graduates access to a wide range of interesting and rewarding careers boasting excellent salaries.

This programme will meet the educational requirements of the Chartered Mathematician designation, awarded by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, when it is followed by subsequent training and experience in employment to obtain equivalent competences to those specified by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for taught masters degrees.

Extended Degree
This extended degree provides an alternative route to higher education and supports those who don’t meet the standard entry requirements for an undergraduate degree. It includes a foundation year where you will enhance your knowledge and skills of core mathematics as well as of core physics and electrical engineering principles.

The foundation year of the course delivered at level 3 which develops your ability to study in Higher Education is not accredited. Subsequent levels and years are accredited and deliver the knowledge, competencies, and skills required to meet the specific course accreditation requirements that relate to the approved accredited award title.
