Take your first steps to becoming an aeronautical engineer on our Foundation Year which will prepare to study our full degree. Grow your confidence as you learn with the help of our expert staff and using cutting-edge facilities. You will develop invaluable skills and a fundamental understanding of maths, physics and electronics as you get ready for the full degree and a career in aeronautical engineering. You’ll learn theory in the classroom before applying it through labs and hands-on workshops as you discover real-world engineering challenges.

As a local student, I commute to the University, and I also have dyslexia, which makes it challenging to understand coursework. However, I've developed practical techniques to overcome these hurdles and am willing to share them with anyone who might benefit. I stay off campus, yet Treforest still gives off that close-knit student-town vibe. Everything is close together, the views are beautiful, and it’s great for hikes when you need a break from school!! I moved from Zim to Wales last year and acclimatised really well, everyone here is so friendly, and I’ve felt right at home since day one.
