Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession that helps restore movement and function in individuals affected by injury, illness, or disability. The BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy Foundation year programme will provide you with the clinical and academic foundations required to progress onto a degree programme and will build your knowledge of health topics, science and research. The programme will support future graduates to become confident and capable of addressing diverse health issues and promoting health, wellbeing and quality of life through a variety of interventions
The programme is delivered by innovative teaching staff in a state-of-the-art building using a modular structure to deliver cutting-edge content. Key transferable skills are embedded throughout the programme, helping students to develop into independent learners ready for the degree programme

On-site Physiotherapy clinic - There is an on-site physiotherapy and acupuncture clinic (The Manchester Movement Unit) which is open to the public and offers the opportunity for staff and students to access a variety of treatments.
Accessible pathway to physiotherapy - Our foundation year course is accessible for those narrowly missing entry requirements, but have a passion for a career in physiotherapy.

Tuition fees for the 2027/28 academic year are still being finalised for all courses.
UK and Channel Island students: On progression to any linked degree course, the standard UK and Channel Islands tuition fee would apply. The standard UK and Channel Islands full-time fee will be £10,050 in academic year 2027/28, subject to parliamentary approval.
International students: We expect EU and Non-EU international fees to be confirmed in autumn 2026.
