The Opera Performance programme is available as two-year, full-time course. This programme provides advanced training relevant to the requirements and demands of professional opera companies. For more information, please see our website: http://www.rwcmd.ac.uk
During the application and audition process, you must select which instrument(s) you wish to specialise in for the duration of your course. On this course, you can choose from the following options:
Only one specialism is studied. It may be possible to study a further instrument, but this will not contribute towards the qualification.
For all courses, you must select at least one specialism from the 'primary' list. For those studying primary/secondary pathways, two instruments may be selected – one from the 'primary' list and one from the 'secondary' list. Joint pathway students may select any two instruments from either list.
The following entry points are available for this course:
International applicants whose first language is not English will need to gain an English language qualification. For more information, please see our website: https://www.rwcmd.ac.uk/englishlanguage
For information on UK Visa requirements please see: https://www.gov.uk/student-visa
Entry is by audition, and you should be able to demonstrate a level of performance ability appropriate for professional training.
Minimum entry requirements usually include a 2:1 degree in music or an equivalent qualification, although we are able to consider applications from people without formal qualifications if they have an exceptional level of ability, practical experience and a good understanding of the opera profession.
