If you're an English language teacher looking to develop your knowledge and skills in teaching English as a second or foreign language, this 18-week online course is for you.
This Trinity Certificate in TESOL (CertTESOL) course will help you achieve your professional goals and take your English teaching to the next level, through dedicated coursework and the ability to put your new skills into action straight away in your own teaching practice. Studying part-time by distance learning, you'll be able to fit your studies around your job in a way that suits you.
You'll learn how to better engage with diverse groups of learners, adapt your teaching methods to different learner needs, and create inclusive and dynamic learning environments. All members of our expert teaching team hold the DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), the highest qualification for English language teachers awarded by Cambridge Assessment.
As an internationally-recognised qualification, this CertTESOL will make you a highly sought-after TESOL teacher and enable you to teach English in schools, language centres and educational institutions around the world.
What you’ll experience
On this short course, you'll:
gain comprehensive knowledge of the main grammatical, lexical and phonological features of standard English, and a deeper understanding of the main advantages and disadvantages of various language teaching approaches
draw up a range of lesson plans with clear and achievable aims, using appropriate methods for learners with various needs
find out how to provide a relevant learning environment and opportunities for learners in relation to their learning objectives
evaluate, use and adapt published material and create teaching materials using the internet, visual aids, audio, video and ICT
evaluate your own effectiveness as a teacher, and improve your skills in interpersonal communication, flexibility and adaptability, time and workload management, delivering constructive and supportive feedback, group behaviour management, teamwork and creativity
explore how to find a TESOL post after the course and of the main issues relevant to employment in this area
have online access to all course materials to use at your own pace and in your own time, with discussion forums and collaborative tools that enable communication and group work with your fellow students

This course offers Continued Professional Development. CPD courses allow you to develop your skills and knowledge relevant to your career path.
An undergraduate degree, or equivalent qualification, in any discipline that shows evidence of sustained academic study. Applicants must be 18 or over when the course starts. Applicants should have a minimum of one year teaching experience and be currently teaching while attending this course. Applicants will be required to take an admissions test. All shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview.
