Course summary

Gain the creative and technical skills to design experiences for cutting-edge spaces, such as festivals, museums, XR and branded events, themed attractions, and more.

New for September 2027, this degree has been developed in response to the heightened industry demand for creatives in one of the fastest growing sectors in the UK's digital arts landscape - immersive and thematic location-based entertainment.

We've worked specifically with experts from Framestore's immersive department (their largest area of growth, globally) to create this degree, meaning you'll learn to create dynamic immersive content that fulfils the evolving industry needs.

Through each module, you'll explore a mix of digital art, storytelling and creative technology. You'll get to grips with industry relevant tools and workflows to develop skills in digital art and technology, making innovative uses of AV (audio-visual) and XR (extended reality) related technologies. Road-test your abilities by completing industry briefs and gaining feedback on your projects from professionals. Impress them, and before you realise it, you'll have built your network and have a portfolio of work, ready to take the industry by storm alongside your fellow Escapees.

By the time you graduate, whether you want to work full-time or freelance, you'll be prepped embark on a career across the immersive sector, such on live performance, art installations, technical arts for XR and immersive performance, real-time FX, motion graphics, and interactive environments, or branch out into film, animation and games.
