The BA (Hons) Acting for Screen is an intensive 2-year programme which is taught by working industry professionals. The course structure consists of a teaching style which favours and focuses on the practical elements of Screen Acting, where the practical projects mirror the film industry’s workflow and creative environments.
You will be able to develop your creative and performance skills, alongside your contextual knowledge. Whilst also being able to engage with the latest digital technologies to develop your skills and further inspire your creativity and ambition. Your assessments will be held in a fast-paced environment with a focus on practical, on set assessments to help you build your skills and confidence for industry work after graduation. During your studies you will also interact with experienced film industry professionals.

We organise a series of events throughout the year where screen professionals tell their stories. In these sessions, a Guest Speaker is invited into the school to speak about their career and experience in the industry.

Assessment will be a combination of the following:
Practical - where live performance and/or the recorded artifact are assessed.
Written - reflective essays, scripts and portfolios
Presentation - these can be in group or individually
While the mix of the above assessment types changes from module to module, depending on learning outcomes, students can expect a mix of 70% practical, 15% written and 15% presentation/other.
To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:
