Healthcare and Health Science (Q96)

If you want to make a meaningful difference in the health and health science sector, this degree gives you the skills to do just that. You'll gain essential knowledge for working in health-related settings, learning to apply evidence-based scientific methods to health-related issues. The combination of healthcare and health science topics will equip you with a broad understanding of debates about the provision of healthcare, as well as enable you to evaluate the relationship between scientific and social understandings of health. Course Modules

This healthcare and health science degree has three stages, each comprising 120 credits.

In Stage 1, you’ll study two 60-credit modules that explore the experience of receiving care and working in care services while examining human health through science, maths, psychology and epidemiology to understand the impact of health conditions on individuals and populations.

In Stage 2, you’ll study one 60-credit module alongside two 30-credit modules that deepen your understanding of the determinants of health, including human biology and the science of the mind.

In the final stage, Stage 3, you’ll study two 30-credit modules and choose one 60-credit module from a range of specialist options. You’ll apply your understanding to public health issues and infectious diseases and complete a project-based module in health sciences.
