This programme is for international students who have successfully completed 2 or 3 years of degree studies in Criminology and/or Psychology (to HND or associate degree level), and who wish to complete their degree studies in the UK. The programme combines content-based studies with the development of English, academic skills, intercultural skills, and independent research skills. The programme prepares students for further English-medium study at master’s level and for vocational work in English-medium global environments. This programme includes opportunities for students to study Criminology alongside UK-based students. The programme is delivered in small, interactive classes (maximum 20 students for language-based studies) where there are many opportunities for discussion, asking questions and getting to know tutors well. Students receive regular individual tutorials, support with settling in the UK and advice on further UK-based studies.
We also provide pre-sessional programmes for students whose English language level is below IELTS (equivalent) 5.5.
The following entry points are available for this course:
| Test | Grade | Additional details |
|---|---|---|
| IELTS (Academic) | 6 | |
| PTE Academic | 50 |
The standard entry requirement for this programme is IELTS 6.0 with no element lower than 5.5. However, you can begin your 3-year degree programme with IELTS 5.5. Our International Route allows you to take 4 credit-bearing modules in International English Studies (IES) as part of your first year studies. This means you study 4 modules in your chosen subject and 4 in International English. The IES Modules allow you to focus on personal language development and your use of English as an academic language. Then, at the end of your first year, you’ll have all the necessary language skills to transfer to full study of your main subject. If you have an IELTS score under 5.5 you can still begin a 3-year degree programme with us. In this case we provide a 5 or 10 week intensive Presessional Programme in English language and academic skills. For the 10 week Programme you’ll need IELTS 4.5, and IELTS 5.0 for the 5 week Programme.https://www.chi.ac.uk/international/entry-requirements/undergraduate-study-babscfdafdsc
