Course summary

The BSc (Hons) Healthcare Science (Audiology) programme is a 1 year level 6 top up programme that has been designed to give registered hearing aid dispensers, currently holding a level 5 qualification, the knowledge, skills and attribute to register as healthcare science practitioners. Currently in UK, 1 in 6 people suffer with hearing problems, such as hearing loss or tinnitus. The top-up programme will ensure hearing aid dispensers will further specialise in working with children, in the rehabilitation of vestibular conditions and tinnitus, and meet the increasing needs of the ageing population.

Entry requirements

Qualification requirements

Students must hold a Higher Education Certificate or Foundation Degree in Hearing Science, Audiology, Health Care Science, Hearing Aid Audiology or any other degree in a relevant area. Recognition of prior experiential learning can be considered. Applicants must have relevant work experience such as valid registration as Hearing Aid Dispenser with Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
