Chemistry and artificial intelligence are transforming the way new medicines are discovered. Our BSc (Hons) Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry with AI brings these worlds together, giving you a unique blend of chemical expertise and digital capability that few undergraduate degrees offer.
You’ll build a strong foundation in medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry while developing the digital skills driving the future of drug discovery. You’ll learn coding, computational thinking and data analysis - skills that underpin modern approaches to predicting molecular behaviour and identifying new therapeutic compounds.
As you progress, you’ll explore specialist areas such as machine learning, computer‑based drug design and AI‑driven modelling. This combination prepares you to design, train and evaluate AI systems that support faster, smarter and more efficient pharmaceutical research.
Alongside this, you’ll gain hands‑on laboratory experience and work on projects shaped by our active researchers and industry partners. You can also broaden your experience through an optional industry placement or a year studying abroad, giving you valuable professional insight and a global perspective on emerging medical technologies.

GCSE grade C/4 or above in English Language or Pass in Level 2 Functional Skills English

The standard UK and Channel Islands full-time fee will be £10,050 in academic year 2027/28, subject to parliamentary approval.
