The HND in Leadership and Management is a designed to develop leadership, management and employability skills, preparing students for managerial roles in further or higher education. You will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for leadership and management roles in various business environments. The qualification is accredited as a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) which confirms that it is an industry-relevant programme of study approved and recognised by employers.
The aims of the programme are to develop students as agile, independent thinkers who are able to respond to change and tackle a range of complex business challenges.
The programme offers a balance between employability skills, behaviours and knowledge essential to support your academic or employment ambitions. A flexible approach to teaching and learning ensures that lectures, workshops, and academic and pastoral tutorials help support you along your academic journey.

The Level 4 HNC Year 1 units provide a broad introduction to business and different business functions:
The Contemporary Business Environment, Marketing Processes and Planning, Management of Human Resources, Leadership and Management, Accounting Principles, Manging a Successful Business Project, Operational Planning and Management, and Digital Business in Practice.
Level 5 Year 2 HND units build on this foundations and are aligned to the Occupational Standard (OS) for Operations or Departmental Manager:
Organisational Behaviour Management, Managing and Leading Change, Principles of Operation Management, Business Strategy, Business Information Technology Systems, Developing Individuals, Teams and Organisations, Business Communications and Relationship Management, Business Data and Analytics.
Assessment takes place using a variety of methods including written reports, presentations, projects and case studies. Regular feedback from your tutors will support your academic and skills development.
