Overview
In a post-Brexit and Covid era, supply chain management is in high demand. If you're ready to explore this exciting career path, but don't meet the entry requirements, have taken a break from study, or want extra support to get uni-ready, then this foundation year course is for you.

You'll study for one year through ICP, right here on campus. You'll get the knowledge and academic skills needed to take on a bachelor's degree, learning how to analyse information, do research, and improve your academic writing.

The skills you'll learn will help you work in teams as well as on your own in culturally diverse workplaces. You'll develop your understanding of new workplaces and environments, and how to adapt to new environments.

When you've finished, you'll be ready to move onto the first year of BSc (Hons) Business and Supply Chain Management.

Careers and opportunities
Supply chain management is needed everywhere and there's a great shortage of supply chain skills in the UK. You could work in retail, healthcare, manufacturing, shipping and freight, charities or the public sector - the choice is yours.

Pay is good; the average salary for all UK procurement and supply chain professionals is £49,743 (CIPS Salary Guide 2022) and there are many varied routes for career progression, including working overseas.

Course Modules

Foundation year
In your foundation year, you'll gain the knowledge you need to move on to the first year of BSc (Hons) Business and Supply Management. It will bridge the gap to uni, with the knowledge and academic skills you'll need to start.

Throughout the year, you'll learn to critically engage with information, undertake literature reviews, enhance your academic writing, and gain awareness of different types of research.

When you successfully complete this year, you'll get a guaranteed place on the first year of the BSc (Hons) Business and Supply Chain Management with Finance degree.

Years 2, 3 and 4
After your first year, you will transfer to BA (Hons) Business and Supply Chain Management. The modules you study in years 2, 3 and 4 (and year 5 if you do a placement year) can be found on the relevant course page.
