Our CFA affiliated BSc Finance degree offers a strong foundation in finance theory and real-world application, helping you develop the analytical and technical skills employers value. With an optional placement opportunity, you can apply what you learn in class to the real world and gain valuable work experience, preparing you for today’s fast-evolving finance sector.
The course focuses on current finance and investment related challenges facing organisations and society, and allows you to tailor your degree through a wide range of options built into the programme.
You can explore areas such as behavioural finance and financial trading, engage with topical issues including ethics and corporate governance, or broaden your perspective through selected management subjects. Many options reflect content typically taught at master’s level, enabling you to specialise in the areas that interest you most.
The degree shares the same first year modules as our Accounting and Finance degree, making it easy to switch routes at the end of year one if you decide that you’d prefer an accounting pathway.
Accredited by professional accounting bodies in the UK (CIMA and ICAEW), the programme offers exemptions from selected exams, enabling you to fast-track your route to professional qualification.
For a full list of areas studied, see the 'What You'll Study' section of the course page on our website.
Depending on the nature of the material, some modules are assessed by a mixture of coursework and examination (for example 25% coursework and 75% examination), whilst other modules are assessed by 100% coursework or 100% examination.
Coursework is based on a variety of tasks including individual essays, projects, contribution in tutorials, group work, class tests, problem sheets and computer-based exercises.

The fees stated above are for the 2027/28 academic year; international fees are still to be approved. We will update this information as soon as it is available. Fees are reviewed annually and are likely to increase to take into account inflationary pressures.
While the cost of your tuition covers lots of things, it doesn’t cover everything. For instance this course doesn’t cover the cost of any stationery, printing, books or re-assessments which you might need.
UK tuition fees align with the applicable fee caps set by the UK government, and as such they are subject to changes made to the agreed cap in a specific year.
