Module 1: Studying Music Performance and Industry

Alongside this, you’ll build essential academic skills and digital research techniques that will support your success throughout the course. Module 2: Songwriting

You'll analyse how music products are made, interpreted and consumed while exploring key debates and trends across the creative industries. Learn how to critically examine two music works, use digital tools to support your analysis, and explore sustainability in music. Module 2: Advanced Songwriting and Composition
Take your songwriting to a professional level by learning how to write for artists, clients and diverse platforms like film, games and TV. Module 4: Write, Record, Perform as a Band

From auditions and songwriting to recording and gigging, this module gives you the chance to create, rehearse and perform original material with your band. Explore what makes a successful band, build your sound, brand and fanbase, and perform at a live gig. You'll gain industry insights and develop the creative, collaborative and technical skills needed for success in the music industry.
Module 1: Music Major Production
Step into your final year with a major production project that brings together everything you’ve learned so far. In this module, you’ll explore selected musical works and creatively reinterpret them for live performance, working as part of a professional-style team. From planning and rehearsing to producing and performing, you’ll gain hands-on experience in creating a full-scale, original music performance. You’ll also consider industry expectations, audience engagement, and ethical and sustainable practices in music production. This module helps you refine your technical skills and stagecraft, preparing you for the demands of real-world performance settings.
Module 2: Music Performance Showcase
Your showcase moment is here. This module gives you the chance to pull together your best work and present it to a professional audience, highlighting your skills, style, and artistic identity. Working solo and in groups, you’ll select and perform a diverse repertoire that reflects your versatility and strengths as a musician. You’ll also reflect critically on your development and positioning in the music industry, making strategic decisions about how to communicate your unique voice. Perfect preparation for a career-launching performance or audition, this is your opportunity to shine as a confident, employable music professional.
Module 3 - Promotional Portfolio
Prepare to launch your dance career with a comprehensive promotional portfolio. You’ll learn how to market yourself professionally through showreels, websites, digital branding, CV writing, and promotional materials. Industry insight sessions and career planning workshops will help you identify your target audience and employment sector while giving you the tools to present yourself confidently to agents, employers, casting directors, and producers across the performance industries.
Module 4 - Industry Investigation
Take control of your learning by researching a topic that reflects your personal interests and future career goals within the creative industries. You’ll explore an area of contemporary debate, emerging trend, or professional issue in depth—applying research skills, critical analysis, and academic writing techniques to create a fully developed research project. This independent investigation allows you to showcase your intellectual curiosity and professional insight alongside your performance training.

Course optionsLMA are happy to accept a wide range of qualifications, including but not limited to: A Levels, BTEC Extended Diploma, OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma, BTEC Subsidiary Diploma(s), Access to HE courses, Scottish Highers, IB Diploma Programme, Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, RSL Level 3 Diploma and T Levels.
We also welcome students who have a combination of qualifications - e.g. 2 A Levels and 1 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma and an extended project.
