Overview

Law Masters (LLM) degrees are increasingly recognised by employers as a way to set applicants apart. If you wish to pursue a Master of Law course tailored to your interests and career goals, our prestigious LLM General degree offers an excellent opportunity.

UEA Law School is housed in the historic Earlham Hall. You will be given the freedom to choose any combination of LLM modules from the extensive selection on offer, ranging from subjects relevant to international trade and commerce to corporate governance; from international competition law to intellectual property and information technology law; and to more socio-legal subjects, such as the protection of privacy and reputation.

Here at UEA, you will join a vibrant, dynamic community of students from diverse backgrounds. We place significant emphasis on choice, enabling you to build your confidence to maximise your employability, and develop adaptable transferable skills. We believe in small-group teaching at postgraduate level, and we aim to keep class sizes low, offering you an unparalleled learning environment with access to our team of international specialists drawn from academia and practice.

We also offer placement opportunities and chances to build your CV through extracurricular activities and the Law School’s unique employability programme. You could benefit from our alumni-mentoring scheme, as well as attend some of our many career events where you can network with law firms, barrister chambers and alumni. You can apply for internship placements, attend careers panels, commercial awareness workshops, mock job interviews, and many other events organised by the UEA Law School and the Careers Service.

Upon completing your LLM, you will be well placed to pursue a range of exciting and rewarding careers. Our alumni have progressed to a wide variety of roles, from private practice in local and international law firms to government legal departments and international organisations, and from universities to industry and commerce – the world truly is your oyster.
