Course summary
The English with Film Studies BA at King’s allows you to study in the heart of London and engage with both its literary and visual history. You will have the chance to explore a variety of exciting topics, with English modules covering global English literatures from the medieval to the contemporary, alongside Film Studies modules which will provide you with a detailed knowledge of the creative potential of film and media, and the relationship between cinema, media, and the societies it portrays.

Access to HE Diploma - D: 36 credits M: 9 credits P: 0 credits
The Access to Higher Education Diploma must be 60 credits in total.
Access to English Literature/Arts/Humanities (or similar subject). Must include at least 15 Level 3 credits in English Literature or English Language and Literature, awarded Distinction.
Scottish Higher - ABB
Must be a combination of three Scottish Highers and two Scottish Advanced Highers. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject.
Scottish Advanced Higher - AA
Must include grade A in Advanced Higher English.
Must be combined with three Scottish Highers. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 36 points
Must include grade 6 in Higher Level English Literature or English Language and Literature.
36 points overall or an aggregate score of 18 from three Higher Levels.
Note: The total point score of 36 includes TOK/EE.
Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) - H1, H1, H2, H2, H2, H2
Must include English Literature or combine English Language and Literature.
Leaving Certificate - Ordinary Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) - Not accepted

Must include Literature in English.
Please note that Global Perspectives is not accepted by King’s as one of your Pre-U Principal subjects. Combinations of Pre-U principal subjects and other qualifications (such as A-levels) will be considered.

Required subjects: English Literature, or combined English Language and Literature
Preferred subjects: English Literature and another arts subject.

All International applicants to Undergraduate programmes are required to pay a deposit of £2,000 against their first year’s tuition fee. This deposit is payable when you firmly accept an unconditional offer to study with us, and will be offset against your tuition fees when you join King’s.
