Tell your story with our hands-on Film degree
Explore the stories that matter to you with our London-based Film degree. You will explore theoretical, practical, and industry perspectives, covering subjects like:

  • film theory

  • film production

  • the media and society

  • world cinema

  • script and narrative

  • documentary making

  • horror, sci-fi, and fantasy.

With a wide variety of modules, you can focus on the areas that interest you the most.

Learn in the capital
Our campus is located in the green and picturesque London borough of Richmond-upon-Thames, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to explore the capital's diverse film industry. We’re also only a stone’s throw away from world-leading studios, such as:

  • Twickenham Studios

  • Shepperton Studios

  • Sky Studios.

Expert teaching and support
Your BA Film teachers are international experts within film, television, and popular culture. They are also here to support you. Our student, Charlotte, tells us that their lecturers “were on hand whenever [they] needed them” and had a “huge impact” on their success.

Work placements: build professional experience
During your film course, you can complete a paid work placement to gain contacts and experience in:

  • the media industries

  • scriptwriting and development

  • film criticism

  • media production

  • digital media

  • content creation.
