Your story. Your crew. Your film. And the skills that make it.
BA (Hons) Film Production with Integrated Foundation Year is a four-year degree programme, including an integrated foundation year to help develop your skills and creativity before you start the first year of the degree course.
This is a course with one purpose: get you making films so you learn through making. From your first term, you'll be pitching ideas, crewing up, and shooting – learning to tell the stories you want to tell. What you make, the voice you develop, the filmmaker you become – is all up to you.
You'll work with professional-grade kit, supported by specialist technicians who know every light and lens inside and out. You'll gain BAFTA albert sustainability certification, health and safety credentials recognised across the industry, and the chance to train toward Avid editing certification. You'll shoot fiction, documentary, and experimental work, then move into territory where film meets other media and technologies.
By graduation, you'll have a showreel, a crew, and a professional network built through three years of collaborative filmmaking. You'll know what kind of filmmaker you are – and you'll have the skills and the credits to prove it.
The following entry points are available for this course:
112 UCAS tariff points from A-Level qualifications. As this course requires an audition, you are not required to have a performance-related subject.
Minimum Pass at C or above. As this course requires an audition, you are not required to have a performance-related subject.
We consider the strength of our applicants’ portfolios as well as their grades and we therefore may make offers which are lower than our standard entry criteria of 112 tariff points. We regularly admit students with a tariff much higher than our standard 112 requirement, and applicants who show potential but aren’t quite at the stage to be able to succeed on the course are offered a 4 year degree with an integrated foundation year which has a standard entry requirement of 32 tariff points.
112 UCAS tariff points from Scottish Higher qualifications. As this course requires an audition, you are not required to have a performance-related subject.
112 UCAS tariff points from an accredited Access to Higher Education Diploma. As this course requires an audition, you are not required to have a performance-related subject.
In addition to 112 UCAS tariff points, you also required to achieve a minimum 4 GCSE's, grade 4/C or above, including English Language.
27 total points in the International Baccalaureate Diploma with at least 15 IB points at Higher level. As this course requires an audition, you are not required to have a performance-related subject.
