Why BSc Geography (fast-track)?
Water, climate change, sea-level rise, coastal risk, pollution, ecological dynamics and global sustainability. These present some of the critical environmental challenges of this century, are geographical in origin and solution, and are the focus of our BSc Geography degree.
You’ll join a course ranked 1st in the UK for student satisfaction by The Guardian in 2026 and 2nd for Student experience in The Times Good University Guide 2023.
You’ll develop a world view, be exposed to a broad range of geographies and acquire an extensive laboratory, statistical and GIS skillset. You’ll find that the abilities you develop are readily transferable, with Geographers continuing to be one of the most sought-after graduates, able to turn their hand to a vast range of employment sectors.
You’ll have the opportunity to progress from field training in the UK in Year 1 to overseas field research in Year 2 and field placements in Year 3, forging unforgettable experiences with us in the landscapes of Europe, Africa and the Americas. You’ll also have the flexibility to select human geography themes from our companion BA Geography course, or to switch to the BA up to the end of Year 1.
With a focus on small class, practical and field learning, you will be assessed entirely through coursework to gain a truly representative measure of graduate attributes.
On this accelerated degree you will graduate in 2 years. In doing so you will make a substantial saving on tuition fees, accommodation and general living costs.
