West Africa Scholarship

About the scholarship 

We have a limited number of partial scholarships worth between £1,000 and £2,000 (GBP), available for self-funding students domiciled in West Africa (see countries below). 

For postgraduate students, the scholarship is tenable for one academic year.

For undergraduate students, the scholarship amount is available for each year of undergraduate study. This is subject to successful progression to each academic year, up to a maximum of £8,000 (GBP).

Eligibility

To be eligible for this award, you must be:

• domiciled in Benin, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and Togo at the time of application. If you are applying from another country in this region, please refer to our Sub-Saharan Africa Scholarship.
• self-funding your course.
• meet the entry criteria for a bachelors or taught masters course in September 2026 and January 2027.
• successfully progressing to each year of study to claim the award as an undergraduate student (up-to a maximum award of £8,000).

Please note – If you have discounted tuition fees from a partner university or are in receipt of another scholarship, you are not eligible for this scholarship. MRes programmes are not eligible for this award.  

Application process 

Scholarships are awarded automatically once you have paid your deposit payment towards your tuition fees. The number of scholarships is limited, and they are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you have paid your deposit, please email cas@napier.ac.uk to be considered.
