First Choice Scholarship 2026/27

The First Choice Scholarship awards £1,000 cash in the first year of study and is available exclusively to students who successfully complete our First Choice Progression Scheme. Designed to reward commitment and support progression into higher education, the scholarship recognises those who fully engage with the scheme.

You do not need to apply for the scholarship. All those who successfully complete our First Choice Progression Scheme and apply to study at the University of Sunderland by 14 January 2026 will be automatically considered.

How do you apply?

You don’t. All students who meet the eligibility criteria will be automatically considered.
