NMITE Neuro-Diversity Diagnosis Fund

The aim of the Neuro-diversity Diagnosis fund is to support neuro-diverse students who do not have the means to fund a diagnostic assessment to reach their full academic potential whilst studying at NMITE  

This fund is for students who do not have a formal diagnosis of a neuro-diverse condition but who believe they experience difficulties in their learning processes due to a cognitive condition.  

To be eligible, you must also:  

  • be enrolled on either a degree level programme with or without Foundation year.
  • started your course here in the academic year 2026/27
  • have completed an initial screening process either at previous education institution or self-assessed that indicates a neuro-diverse condition 

Students are required to meet with the Student Services Manager to request an eligibility check to access the Neuro-diversity Diagnosis Fund; they will need to provide evidence that they meet the eligibility criteria. In addition, a statement to explain perceived impact on learning experience; the student support team can assist with this statement if required.  

The NDDF will help with a formal diagnostic assessment to the maximum value of £1000.  

NMITE has identified professions qualified to carry out diagnostic assessments; payment will be made directly to the independent assessor identified.  

It is presumed by NMITE that if a student receives a positive diagnostic result that they will apply through the Student Loan Company for a Disabled Student assessment.  

Students can apply and receive support from this fund in addition to any other bursary they may have been awarded.
