About this award
Through the Sanctuary Scholarship, the University provides vital assistance to up to three new undergraduate students each year.
The scholarship includes a complete waiver of tuition fees, an annual £2,000 grant to help with study-related costs, and dedicated personal support throughout the duration of the degree - subject to continued eligibility.
How to apply
Please apply online. Applications close on 6 June 2025. After this date we will not be able to accept any new applications.
Before applying for the Sanctuary Scholarship you must have applied for a place on a course at the University of Hull.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview. This may be virtual or in-person, depending on your circumstances.

Some of our courses, typically healthcare and education subjects, require students to pass a DBS check. If it is not possible to obtain a DBS check for you you may not be able to study your chosen course. If we can offer an alternative course we will.
If you do not have the right to work in the UK you may not be able to take part in work placements, even where these are an integral part of the course. If you apply for a course which is unsuitable we will advise you of your options.
Students who meet the eligibility criteria for the award but who are not successful will be eligible for the Sanctuary Fee Reduction.
