ICAEW Foundation Bursary

Scholarship information

The ICAEW Foundation Bursary will be given as a one-off payment of £5,000 for one year of postgraduate study. This will be awarded during the February 2026 intake.

Open to students who meet the following criteria:

  • A postgraduate student studying at the University of Surrey
  • Studying a postgraduate degree with Accounting and/or Finance bias.

Applicants will be asked to provide the following information as part of the application process:

  • Personal income (salary, savings, benefits)
  • Household income and family support
  • Current debts or loans (including student loans)
  • Financial responsibilities (dependents, caring responsibilities, tuition, accommodation, or other essential costs)
  • Any other factors affecting your ability to fund your studies.

Note: Evidence of financial circumstances may be requested (e.g. bank statements, payslips, benefit letters)

We understand that postgraduate students have diverse financial circumstances. Please provide as much detail as you can about your personal finances, financial responsibilities and any factors affecting your ability to fund your studies. You should also explain how receiving this scholarship would support you and enable you to focus on your course. Supporting evidence may be required if necessary.

Scholarship awards cannot be determined by a single measure of income or circumstance. Each application is considered individually, and decisions are made based on the information you provide and the relative needs of all applicants.
